Mission and objectives

UNDP’s mandate is to end poverty, build democratic governance, rule of law, and inclusive institutions. We advocate for change, and connect countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. The UNDP Office in Montenegro was established in 2007. The CO supports the country in strengthening the institutional capacities, green economic growth and development, inclusion of marginalized groups in line with national priorities of the EU accession process which is a key driver of the country’s reform agenda. UNDP work in the country set with UNDP Country Programme Documents for 2017-2021 and Integrated UN Programme for Montenegro 2017 -2021 (extended to 2022). The CO Programme is mainly concentrated on advice and support to the Government to better align the legislative and policy frameworks with EU standards and strengthen capacities of national counterparts, in particular when it comes to social sector reforms, reform of judiciary, economic reforms, environmental sustainability through management of the protected areas and promoting low carbon development and in responding to obligations towards UNFCCC. Given the upper middle-income context, the bilateral assistance is limited, and donor landscape is dominated by the EU. UNDP funding increasingly comes directly from the Government (including local Government) to assist Ministries in designing and implementing the reforms.

Context

The Joint UN Programme focused on social cohesion and peacebuilding is achieving intended results, which are rich and multidimensional. The impact and results should be turned into appealing web stories, in a form of human stories and blog posts intended for various audiences. To that end, we are seeking to engage qualified and experienced Online Volunteer to support us in human storytelling through this online assignment.

Task Description

Specifically, the Online Volunteer will support creation of various communication formats, such as newsletters, web stories social media visuals, infographics, based on the programme progress reports.
