PURPOSE
Program Officer (Education, Child Protection, ADAP and SBC) NOB-TA position is to be deployed in Sukkur Field/ Hub Office of UNICEF Pakistan to support the integrated service delivery. The position will report to Education Officer NOB FT and will work closely under technical guidance of Education, Child Protection(CP), Social & Behavioural Change and ADAP Head of Sections based at Karachi field office. The Program Officer (Education, CP, ADAP and SBC) provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process, and prepares, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Education , ADAP, CP and SBC output results for the humanitarian and development programmes in the field office.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: A university degree (bachelor’s) in one of the following fields is required: Education, social sciences/ Social work, Social & behavioral Science, or another relevant technical field
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in social development sector preferably in Sindh Education/CP -related/SBC humanitarian responses in Pakistan is required.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues for integration and case management is required.
  • Experience of working with communities and knowledge of community-based approaches is essential
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
  • Experiences in flood response is preferable.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Urdu, Sindhi & other is preferable as the officer will have to deal with local communities.
  • Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
