Role Overview

The Unit 4 Finance Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the Unit 4 ERPX software. This technical position is responsible for configuring and managing security roles, data access, and system workflows to ensure optimal performance and user accessibility. The administrator will also handle the creation and adaptation of new configurations, including flexi-fields, parameters, and reports, ensuring that the system evolves with Medair’s needs. Addressing technical issues, such as errors and bugs, is a critical function, alongside the development of technical documentation for all configurations.

Project Overview

Medair GSO Finance primarily focuses on Medair financial and investment decisions in all aspects, acts as a financial gatekeeper and strategic advisor in daily business operation and also mid to long-term strategic decisions of Medair, from the aspect of transformation the function/ optimization in key processes, and implementation of fit-for-purpose ERP system.

Key Activity Areas

Technical responsibility for Unit 4

  • Technically responsible for the Unit 4 ERPX cloud-based SaaS software and Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Work with the Digital Solutions & Engineering team on the integrations between Fin4U and software applications.
  • Support the Payroll Officer with Cresus Excel based tools for payroll management.
  • Translate business requirements into logical, component-based technical designs.
  • Drive resolution of issues that come up during the deployment phase of projects.
  • Implement implementation, coordinating tests and observing initiation of the system to validate performance.
  • Provide second level support to users.
  • Stay up to date: use existing training, resources, and develop skills and knowledge about the latest features.
  • Train users accordingly.

Software Administration

  • Establish and maintain user access controls, defining data permissions, customizing interface options, and setting up workflow roles to ensure system security and efficiency.
  • Implement new configurations and updating existing ones, including flexible fields, system parameters, workflow processes, button functions, and view layouts to enhance system functionality.
  • Create and adapt variants for ordered reports, ensuring customized reporting solutions meet the specific needs of the business.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, including system errors and bugs, to maintain system integrity and user satisfaction.
  • Create new and modify existing Info Browser Reports to provide insightful data analysis.
  • Create detailed technical documentation for all system configurations, serving as a reference guide for system specifications and procedures.
  • Manage the system environment, overseeing software updates, system enhancements, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Engineering or similar.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English language (speaking and writing).

Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC)

What is the ROC and why is it required?

Experience

  • Unit 4 Financial technical experience and expertise is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a relevant field of work.
  • Demonstrated experience in business systems analysis, design and system testing to a senior level.
  • Experience working within a Finance function/ working knowledge of Finance functions is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with administration of payroll systems is desirable.
  • Participation in a full ERP implementation is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of enterprise business systems and analytics, especially in the areas of Finance, Logistics and /or HR.
  • Experience using helpdesk/ticketing systems (such as Jira).
  • System integration and Data Analysis (awareness of APIs and Data Modelling techniques)
  • Knowledge and experience in Unit4 ERPx or ERP 7 is essential
  • An Advanced knowledge and skill in Excel spreadsheets is desirable
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills to lead workshops and establish the necessary mindset across functions.

All new deploying international staff to Medair’s country programmes (and other roles which require field travel) should be fully vaccinated with a WHO-approved COVID vaccine, supported with a COVID vaccination certificate as evidence.
