The Nature Conservancy

tendersglobal.net

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is seeking two Sagebrush Technicians to join our team in Teton County, Wyoming. Wyoming is the heart of the nation’s “Sagebrush Sea,” a critical but threatened biome that supports unique natural systems, species and local economies, including numerous long-distance big game migrations and critical greater sage-grouse habitat.

We are looking for two focused and driven individuals to assist our dynamic team in a variety of projects, including ground-truthing leading-edge invasive annual grass (IAG) models, evaluating the effectiveness of IAG treatments, and supporting federal and county partners in their efforts to strategically monitor and manage IAGs.

The Upper Snake Sagebrush Technicians will be responsible for conducting a variety of field tasks as well as managing data. They will work in a team and at times independently across several workstreams to collect and manage vegetation data.

Term & Location:  This is a full-time, temporary position based in Jackson, WY, running from May 25th until September 11th.  Jackson is celebrated for its iconic mountain skylines and outdoor recreation opportunities. The area offers world-class hiking and climbing in Grand Teton National Park and the Gros Ventre mountains, exceptional wildlife viewing, and access to the Snake River for fishing and boating. The valley is home to a vibrant community centered around outdoor adventure and conservation, including the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance, the Jackson Hole Land Trust, the Northern Rockies Conservation Cooperative, and Teton Science Schools, creating opportunities for professional networking and community engagement. The technicians will be responsible for securing housing.

Seasonal housing in the Jackson Hole area is extremely limited; we will only be able to consider applicants who have a specific plan for housing and can confirm this in their cover letter.

Salary & Benefits: The Nature Conservancy offers competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications, excellent benefits, flexible work policies and a collaborative work environment. The hourly wage for this position falls within the range of $19.60 to $25.55, with a standard work week consisting of 35 hours and spanning four days.
