About the Role:

As the User Experience (UX) IT Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping and enhancing the digital interaction between end-users and our technology systems. Your primary responsibility is to drive the development of intuitive, user-friendly interfaces across our diverse range of digital products and platforms.

Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure seamless integration of user-centric design principles into the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement a UX strategy aligned with overall business goals.
    • Translate business requirements into effective UX design solutions.
  • UX Design Standards:
    • Establish and maintain consistent UX design standards for all digital products.
    • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and accessibility standards.
  • User Research and Testing:
    • Plan and conduct user research to gain insights into user behaviour, needs, and preferences.
    • Organise usability testing sessions to validate design concepts and gather feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with software developers, product managers, and business analysts to integrate UX design.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration between UX and other departments.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and UX design methodologies.
    • Implement iterative design processes and lead post-launch evaluations for future enhancements.
  • Prototyping and Wireframing:
    • Oversee the creation of prototypes and wireframes to visualise design concepts.
    • Ensure development of interactive prototypes for user testing and stakeholder feedback.
  • User-Centric Design Thinking:
    • Champion a user-centric design thinking approach throughout the organisation.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage the UX budget efficiently and allocate resources effectively.
    • Identify opportunities for resource optimisation and cost-effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of UX processes and design decisions.
    • Provide regular reports on UX performance metrics, usability testing outcomes, and progress.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Effectively communicate UX strategies, design rationale, and project updates to key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in UX design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience at managing multiple vendors and matrix team structures
  • Managing and grooming the backlog and pipeline of work and facilitating prioritisation across the business and team.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills.

Even better:

  • Graduate or post graduate studies in a related field.
  • Experience in technology strategy consulting desirable
  • Experience with large scale enterprise or transformational efforts
  • Experience in implementing process change and IT systems across a broad geographical area.
