CTG overview

CTG recruits, deploys and manages the right people with the right skills to implement humanitarian and development projects, from cleaners to obstetricians, and mechanics to infection specialists, we’re skilled in emergency response to crises such as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Key to successful project delivery is the ability to mobilise at speed; CTG can source and deploy anyone, anywhere, in less than 2 weeks and have done so in 48 hours on a number of occasions.

Overview of position

CTG is seeking an individual to help drive CTG’s corporate affairs activities. The purpose of this role is to amplify leadership messaging aligned with CTG’s strategic vision & commitment to delivering a positive social impact in fragile & conflict affected countries.

Role objectives

Day to day tasks & activities will include & be related to (but not limited to):

  • Content creation & copy writing, preparing reports, blogs, social media posts, brochures etc.

  • Develop & execute leadership communication strategies.

  • Support with thought leadership development & research including developing white papers. 

  • Manage senior leadership’s owned media including social media channels, blogs & newsletters for internal & external communications. 

  • Implement processes to facilitate long term planning, high quality content gathering & execution across all areas of senior leadership communication.

  • Advise on public events / public engagement opportunities & manage content capture.

  • Conduct research for & prepare briefings & / or speeches for CTG’s participation in public engagements or high level meetings.

  • Supporting with event / workshop organisation & management.

Project reporting

This role reports to the Shared Value Manager.

Key competencies
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communication / journalism / public relations or equivalent.

  • Candidates with a degree in international relations / international development or a related field with demonstratable experience will also be considered.

  • Fluency in English is essential.

  • Proficiency in additional languages would be considered an advantage.

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in corporate affairs or public relations.

  • Political awareness & knowledge of the UN system.

  • Knowledge & understanding of the workings of the humanitarian & international development sectors.

  • Understanding of human rights & social impact challenges in low income / fragile & conflict affected countries.

  • Further knowledge of corporate sustainability would be considered an advantage.

  • Proven strength in written & oral communication & qualitative / quantitative research.

  • Meticulous attention to detail & able to consistently deliver work to a high quality standard.

  • Organisation & the ability to manage multiple workstreams at any one time.

  • Able to work independently without minimal oversight as well as part of multinational teams.

  • Excellent grasp of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint & Excel.

Team management

This role has no team management responsibility.
