| Overview of position |
Context:
Under
the overall supervision of the MHU Programme Coordinator, and under the direct
supervision of the Senior Programme Assistant and administrative supervision of
the relevant Head of Sub Office, the incumbent in collaboration with relevant
units will be responsible and accountable for supporting and management of all
Immunization related activities under Migration Health Unit (MHU) in Helmand
and /Zabul provinces implemented in close coordination with the main partners (
WHO, UNICEF, ACASUS, IFRC, BMGF, GAVI ) and the national technical coordination
entities mainly National Expanded Program for Immunization (NEPI ) and National
Emergency Operational Center for Polio Eradication (NEOC). She/he is expected
to carry out his/her duties in accordance with the strictest ethical standards
and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural sensitivities.

| Role objectives |
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of the Migration Health Unit (MHU) immunization program and operations in the related province.
- In collaboration with the Senior Project Assistant (SPA) National Programme Officer, facilitate the microplanning and the implementation of the immunization activities up to the catchment area level in coordination with the NEPI/NEOC local representatives
- Coordinate all required services within MHU (Health Operation support, Health Information Management & Reporting, Capacity building, Coordination and Health Partnership engagement) in the related province.
- In collaboration with the National Immunization Officer, Public Health Officer, Senior Project Assistant (SPA), and IOM sub-office head, the incumbent will support the coordination of immunization and technically support the migration health projects in the relevant province.
- Support the coordination of the vaccination and operational and technical support to Migration Health projects at the relevant province in collaboration and liaison with the Regional Health Cluster and the local Provincial Public Health Director (PPHD) of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and other partners.
- Participate in key coordination forums and technical meetings at the Provincial level such as Regional Cluster meetings, Migration Health Task Force (MHTF), Provincial Public Health Coordination Committee (PPHCC), EPR meetings and other coordination platforms as relevant in the region/province.
- Supervise, lead, guide and support the MHU personnel in every Service Delivery Point (SDP), thereby enabling them to fulfill their roles and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
- The Incumbent will regularly monitor and supervise the routine immunization activities, regularly check the M&E data quality and ensure that M&E learning is in place, raising all deviations to MHU Management with corrective measures.
- Provide timely feedback to the National Programme Officer) (Immunization) officer related to key findings during the monitoring and supervision visits.
- Undertake duty travel, as required and in line with prevailing security restrictions, related to vaccination and routine immunization project implementation and oversight, staff training, and liaison with partners in the provinces.
- Ensure in coordination with the DTM unit the implementation of population mobility mapping (PMM) exercise in the related province.
- Assist the project assessments and research in the related province.
- Liaise with external partners and government authorities to advance IOM’s programming, help identify synergies with other actors, and attend relevant meetings with external stakeholders in the related province.
- Ensures data collection and use are maintained in the related province in the light of data integrity and security policies.

Required Qualifications and
Experience
Education
·Bachelor’s
degree in medicine, public health or related field with two years of relevant
professional experience
or
- High
School Diploma with four (4) years of relevant professional experience
Experience
·Minimum
2 years of managerial experience in public health program
·Working
experience in Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) projects would be on
advantage
·Experience
working with Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook
Explorer, Power Point, Access)
·Flexibility
and ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure to meet tight
deadlines
·Ability
and willingness to travel inside Afghanistan and overseas as requested.

Languages
