Job description
Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a highly skilled experienced Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon to join a dynamic team. As a key member of the practice, you will bring your orthopedic expertise to enhance our services and contribute to the establishment of a referral center. The practice is specialized in small animals and felines. Our client is committed to providing exceptional veterinary care, and we are looking for a professional who shares a passion for delivering high-quality service. Although part-time is preferred, will consider full-time time.
The salary for this Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon role is £70,000 – £85,000 per annum (pro-rata).
Responsibilities of the Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon:
- Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of animals presenting with internal medical issues.
- Perform orthopaedic surgeries with precision and proficiency.
- Diagnose and treat orthopaedic conditions in a variety of animal species.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of orthopedic referral services.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay abreast of advancements in orthopedic veterinary medicine and incorporate best practices into daily patient care.
- Educate pet owners on post-surgical care and rehabilitation practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all orthopedic cases.
Requirements of the Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon:
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Advanced training or certification in Orthopaedic Surgery is highly desirable.
- Veterinary license.
- Proven experience in performing orthopedic surgeries in a veterinary setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach towards both animals and their owners.
