Delaware County Community College (DCCC) located outside of the
Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dynamic Vice
President for Institutional Advancement
 to join our

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement
(VPIA) will serve as a member of the President’s
Cabinet and is responsible for designing and implementing
comprehensive institutional advancement programs, including annual
fund; corporate and foundation relations; major gifts and gift
planning; endowment; capital campaign, and alumni and constituent
relations efforts.   The major functions of this critical
position include but are not limited to; fundraising from all
private and public sources; leading initiatives with alumni
programs; and coordinating annual giving as the Executive Director
of the Delaware County Community College (DCCC) Education
Foundation.

The VPIA provides overall leadership, management, and
coordination of DCCC’s fund-raising and alumni relations programs,
and will be responsible for leading an integrated program of
external relations and institutional advancement.  

Essential Functions (Including, but not limited
to)
:

  • Serve as the Executive Director of DCCC Educational Foundation
    and ensures the effective functioning of the Foundation’s board and
    committees.
  • Collaborate with members of the President’s Cabinet to achieve
    the strategic goals and objectives of the Institutional Advancement
    division, as well as the overall College.
  • Maintain a dynamic portfolio of major gift prospects in all
    phases of qualifications.
  • Participate in strategic discussions and develop programs to
    strengthen the financial resources of the College.
  • Work closely with the President on all phases of the College’s
    advancement and campaign activities. 
  • Direct, coach, evaluate and inspire staff to ensure
    accountability and goal-oriented outcomes.
  • Develops a comprehensive fundraising program, including all
    public and private sources.
  • Create and execute development plans that utilize best
    practices in annual, major, capital, and planned gift programs to
    meet fundraising goals.
  • Plan and direct the College’s advancement activities through a
    program of identification and cultivation of potential individual,
    corporate, and institutional donors.
  • Take an active role in building partnerships between the
    College and other organizations, including area school districts,
    businesses, other higher educational institutions, and community
    organizations.
  • Continue to develop an effective alumni association, including
    an annual giving campaign.
  • Participate in various college activities to ensure a broad
    institutional perspective and understanding of the College’s
    mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Serve as the institutional coordinator for grant-related
    activities, including submission of proposals, monitoring progress,
    and overseeing all reporting.
  • Prepares reports and analyses of the progress of fundraising
    and grants initiatives.
  • Remains active and involved in the advancement profession and
    keeps the College visible among other community colleges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s Degree preferred) with a
    minimum of five (5) years of experience in Advancement, preferably
    in higher education.
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience
    in development activities, preferably in an institution of higher
    education, including three (3) years of supervisory
    experience.
  • Experience in a comprehensive community college setting is
    strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Background Clearances: Act 153 Clearances
    (Act 34 PA Criminal Background History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse
    History, Act 114 FBI Clearance); Verification of educational
    credentials
