Who are we:
The British Embassy in Yerevan is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit an Administrative Assistant.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Support the Embassy’s work by delivering high‑quality administrative and logistical coordination for official visits, events, and strategic engagements. The role will play a key part in helping the Embassy prepare for major international activity, including support to the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17), which Armenia will host in 2026. The jobholder will work closely with internal teams and cross‑government partners to ensure smooth planning, accurate information management, and effective delivery of Embassy priorities.

Administrative Support (50%)
- Coordinate high‑level visits and work closely with cross‑government stakeholders.
- Liaise with contacts to arrange meetings, activities, and visit programmes.
- Collect, organise, and maintain accurate records and information.
- Manage and update the forward look, ensuring planned visits and key details are reflected in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, hotels, transport providers, and other suppliers.
- Process payments using the Embassy credit card.
Logistics Support (30%)
- Arrange travel logistics, including transport, accommodation, and related requirements.
- Provide flexible support in planning and coordinating conferences, events, and similar activities.
- Attend venues as needed to oversee arrangements and ensure smooth delivery.
- Support setup and breakdown of events, ensuring compliance with requirements.
Records & Information Management (20%)
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of bookings, invoices, payments, and logistical arrangements.
- Keep information current, well‑organised, and compliant with internal processes.
- Track expenditure, bookings, and event‑related documentation.

Our ideal candidate shows:
- fluency in English at C1 level (CEFR) or equivalent, and fluent Armenian C1.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative or customer‑facing roles.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Confident communicator with stakeholders.
- Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.

This is a full-time and fixed-term contract for 8 months of 35 hours net per week (Monday to Friday) from 09:00 to 17:00. Flexible working is available based on Manager approval and the requirements of the role.
The gross monthly salary is 646,536 AMD, non-negotiable (paid x12 instalments yearly).
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance.
The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation to work in Armenia, in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Armenia are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Armenian employment law.
The British Embassy Yerevan has a year-round focus on Learning and Development. All staff are encouraged to take an active role in their own development. Time will be made available for training courses, teach-ins, online and face to face opportunities to learn, not only about the specific role, but also more about diplomatic work of the HM Government globally. The Economic Projects Officer will be expected to complete mandatory training to support their induction and encouraged to seek further opportunities to develop their skills in programme management (particularly adaptive management) and economic analysis.
