Main purpose of the job:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the UK’s most dynamic and important sectors. Working with the Food & Drink and Agriculture Team you will support the delivery of activities that aim to increase and promote UK exports to Brazil. The Food & Drink sector encompasses a number of iconic and traditional products from the UK, including Scotch Whisky, Gin, Salmon, Chocolates and others. In agriculture, the UK has a vast expertise in animal genetics, precision agriculture and technological solutions to efficient and sustainable farming.
Working with the Strategic Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for assisting our Trade Promotion efforts, assist the development and management of a pipeline of commercial opportunities in Brazil for UK companies with particular focus on, but not limited to, Food & Drink and Agri-tech.
You will also be responsible for the team’s administrative tasks, providing back-office support to activities related to trade promotion, market access, marketing intelligence and overseas direct investment.
You will also support the organisation of events, marketing and communications campaigns.
You will have the opportunity to participate at commercial meetings, tradeshows and external events, when appropriate, in order to develop your professional skills and experience to enhance your future career prospects.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and back-office support to the Food & Drink and Agriculture Team;
- Ensure records of interactions with clients are updated in our internal data systems;
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of market research reports, internal briefings, visiting programmes for clients, trade data, news, and sector information related to the Food & Drink and Agriculture sector, as well as assisting on the understanding of the market access barriers;
- Support the delivery of high profile events that aim to support exporting companies in the UK to access the Brazilian market;
- Support the team in identifying business opportunities for UK companies;
- Accompany and lead meetings with Brazilian and UK companies, both virtually and in person;
- Create a monthly newsletter to our database and broad communication campaigns
- Produce content for events, missions and commercial meetings about the UK offer for business.
Your success in this position will be measured on the value of exports and direct investment you assist British companies to achieve in the Brazilian market. These companies will be clustered around the Food & Drink and Agri-tech sectors.
This position will see you exposed to ministers and high profile contacts in the private sector; therefore, a high level of resilience and professionalism are essential.
The position will suit a motivated self-starter, with high organizational skills, that excels in time and deadlines management, successfully leading projects to completion, planning and meeting goals and attention to detail. Showing interest in the commercial sector is essential to the successful candidate.

- University Degree in International Relations, Administration or related areas;
- Significant professional experience in business development and/or client relationship management and/or a budget control role.
- Fluent English and Portuguese, with excellent writing and speaking capabilities.
- Proficient in use of MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Excellent organisational skills
- A responsible and proactive self-starter who works collaboratively and is open to learn and receive feedback.
- Knowledge and/or experience on the Food & Drinks and Agri-Tech sectors,
- Previous experience in commercial sector.
