The British Embassy Abu Dhabi has a vacancy for a Late Shift Driver, job grade S1 on a fixed-term contract for one (1) year with the possibility of extension. This role is open to both male and female applicants.
The Driver will be part of a Transport Team, where maintaining a high standard of driving, that is both safe, punctual and efficient is critical.
The Driver will need to maintain a high standard of driving skills, undertake daily basic vehicle maintenance, complete general administrative tasks and ensure the safety of passengers at all times.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Driving staff or delegations to various appointments as per a schedule.
- Maintenance of all official vehicles as directed by Transport & Accommodation Officer to include daily cleaning, checking tyre pressure, brake fluid, engine oil, radiator, battery, and wind screen washer levels.
- Ensure vehicles are taken for regular service as per schedule in consultation with the Transport & Accommodation Officer.
- Complete basic administrative tasks related to the job.
- Dress smartly at all times, especially when key delegations and VIP officials are visiting.
- Demonstrate flexibility to be available at short notice as and when required to meet business needs.
- Performing additional duties to support wider Embassy functions as and when required.
The above list is not exhaustive, and the jobholder will be required to be flexible and take on other ad hoc tasks as required.

Eligibility:

Working hours and remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, which includes 25 days of leave per annum (calculated pro-rata).
The salary for this role is AED 6,852 per month.
There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
This role is for a full-time employment, on a fixed term contract basis for one (1) year, subject to six (6) months’ probationary period. The contract may be extended, subject to satisfactory performance and on on-going business requirement.
The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:00 hrs. This role involves working a shift pattern and the anticipated late shift hours are 14:00 to 22:00. This is inclusive of one-hour paid rest break for each five (5) hours worked; the timing of the rest break shall be approved by the Employee’s Line Manager and in accordance with operational requirements.
The successful candidate should also be flexible in their approach to hours worked as these will also be dictated by operational needs and will occasionally involve working out of hours during high-level visits or during busy periods.
The Embassy has an active Learning and Development Committee, and the whole of Post is committed to providing the time and resources for staff to develop personally and professionally. The 70/20/10 learning and development model is applied in a flexible manner, with extensive informal and formal opportunities readily available.
The successful candidate will be required to transfer their visa under the Embassy’s sponsorship.
