The British Embassy in Abu Dhabi has a vacancy for a Regional Integrity Manager under the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), job grade Higher Executive Officer (HEO), on a fixed-term contract for one (1) year with the possibility of renewal.
The jobholder will join the Integrity Manager Network to support the Visa Services and Information (VSI) teams in Abu Dhabi. The jobholder will carry out a wide range of activities to support the delivery of the Decision-Making Centre (DMC) and maintain ongoing business-as-usual operations.
The job holder will provide a critical eye to the development of process and structures within the team, ensuring compliance with established standards and supporting the development of assurance processes.
The successful candidate needs to be confident, have excellent organizational and communication skills, and trusted to be able to work with minimal guidance and supervision. The jobholder will need to be flexible and able to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
The jobholder will be a proactive and operationally focused individual who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in fast-paced environments. The jobholder must also possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, using influence and persuasion to achieve successful outcomes.
In addition, the jobholder will cover the integrity for both Istanbul and Islamabad, which will require occasional travel.
The jobholder must be available in a full-time capacity to work on site at the British Embassy Abu Dhabi.
Duties and responsibilities
- Representing the Integrity Manager Network at Post and with stakeholders, championing integrity and fostering a culture which encourages staff compliance with security measures and promotes a professional, efficient, and fair working environment.
- Identifying and sharing information on vulnerabilities in systems, processes, policies and people which may be at risk of being exploited.
- Assuring end-to-end case-working processes and general security and integrity practices; aligning these practices across all Decision-Making Centres (DMCs).
- Collaborating with Integrity Managers across the Network (based in the UK and overseas).
- Liaising with the Professional Standards Unit, the Anti-Corruption Unit and relevant HR teams as required.
- Working with Assurance and Integrity Leads to support compliance and integrity activities with our overseas suppliers.
The above list is not exhaustive, and the jobholder will be required to be flexible and take on other ad hoc tasks as required, including participating in the Embassy’s emergency planning and any other response to a crisis affecting UK citizens.

Eligibility:
- Applicants must be able to obtain an appropriate level of UK Security Clearance and be able to obtain a valid UAE police clearance certificate. Higher clearances can be granted only to certain nationalities. For this reason, candidates must be of British, American, Australian, Canadian, or New Zealand nationality in order to gain and maintain the level of clearance required.

- Previous experience of entry clearance and/or in country-casework immigration case-working processes and systems.

Working hours and remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, which includes 25 days of leave per annum (calculated pro-rata).
The salary for this role is AED 25,646 per month
There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
This role is for a full-time employment, on a fixed term contract basis for one (1) year, subject to six (6) months’ probationary period. The contract may be extended, subject to satisfactory performance and on on-going business requirement.
The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday from 0700 to 1800 hrs. The Employee’s normal weekly working hours are forty (40) Monday to Friday (inclusive). This is inclusive of one-hour paid rest break for each five (5) hours worked; the timing of the rest break shall be approved by the Employee’s Line Manager and in accordance with operational requirements.
The jobholder should be flexible in their approach to hours worked as these will be dictated by operational needs and may involve working out of hours (evening and/or weekend), especially during events and visits. Flexible working arrangements may be considered based on operational requirements and agreement with the line manager, and in line with FCDO and Embassy policies.
The jobholder will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be expected to be present on site.
This role is based in Abu Dhabi but will cover Istanbul and Islamabad and will involve travel to these countries for business purposes. The successful candidate must be able to secure visas for these countries.
The Embassy has an active Learning and Development Committee, and the whole of Post is committed to providing the time and resources for staff to develop personally and professionally. The 70/20/10 learning and development model is applied in a flexible manner, with extensive informal and formal opportunities readily available.
The successful candidate will be required to transfer their visa under the Embassy’s sponsorship.

The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take around two to three months.
