Could you be the strategic communications lead helping shape how Spain sees the UK’s clean energy revolution and economic partnerships? We’re looking for a bilingual Campaigns Officer to design and deliver compelling campaigns and social media that highlight the UK as a hub for innovation and growth across key sectors including technology, clean energy, and life sciences. You will be joining during a transformative period for both countries.
Main purpose of job:
As the Campaigns Officer, your work will sit at the heart of the Embassy’s growth agenda, as we aim to promote the UK’s image in Spain. You will engage closely with the Embassy’s Economic and Public Policy team, as well as with the Department for Business and Trade, to support our key growth priorities such as energy, climate, life sciences, transport and science and innovation.
This work is linked to two missions of the UK Government: kickstarting economic growth and making Britain a clean energy superpower.
You will be empowered to set the direction for your work, using your insights and strategic communication skills to design campaigns. You will also have strong interpersonal skills to build internal and external networks, including with Spanish media, business influencers and stakeholders.
You will manage the Embassy’s LinkedIn account, creating content for specific business audiences as well as more widely for the Embassy’s different communications activities, working closely with the rest of the communications team.
The role may include line management responsibilities. You will create an inclusive, collaborative environment that drives effective delivery and encourages professional growth.
Would you like to make an impact in a fast-moving, high-profile international environment? Are you creative, strategic, conscientious and able to deliver at pace? If so, this position is the right fit for you.
Roles and responsibilities:
Design and amplify the UK Growth campaign in Spain.
- You will apply the UK Government’s Growth narrative to position the UK as a top-tier destination for Spanish investment, innovation and trade;
- You will implement and evaluate comms campaigns in English and Spanish for the activities delivered by different sector colleagues, including media and social media;
- You may also be required to apply for internal funding and manage the relevant budget to deliver these campaigns;
- You will also engage with other Embassy stakeholders and external partners to deliver these activities and proactively scope opportunities to showcase the UK.
Manage the Embassy’s LinkedIn.
- You will develop a suite of digital assets (videos, infographics, testimonials) tailored to Spanish business audiences, and pitch stories to Spanish businesses;
- You will also work with other comms colleagues to suggest, produce and deliver content on other Embassy priorities and the Ambassador’s activities.
Comms for our flagship events.
- Design and deliver comms plans for the King’s Birthday’s Party, the biggest celebration of our bilateral relationship, which takes place in June, and the UK-Spain Business Awards, at which we recognise the main business actors of the relationship.
Visits, High Level Meetings and Contacts.
- You will support visits of UK officials to Spain, helping shape programmes and announcements and delivering associated communications in Spanish media and social media;
- You will build a network of stakeholders in business, institutions and Government to influence and broaden our reach.
Other responsibilities.
- Deputising for the Head of Press whilst they are away;
- Playing an active role in the communication response to crises;
- Engaging in corporate and wider Embassy initiatives.
