Main purpose of job: The Carpentry Team Leader will be the responsible person for scheduling and delivery of carpentry, wood and joinery works across the British High Commission Estate. They will ensure all members of the carpentry team safely perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, design, construction and inspection of buildings and timber structures across the British High Commission estate. They will ensure a high level of workmanship and standards. They will lead their team in upskilling and training ensuring the highest of standards is applied in their work.

Learning and development opportunities (and any specific training courses to be completed): The British High Commission Nairobi supports a learning and development culture with online and in person trainings offered throughout the year, including, but not limited to: line management, health & safety, team work etc. As a member of the Technical Works Group the officer will have an opportunity to continue professional skills training and certification upon application and approval. |
Working patterns: The team leader will have access to a laptop that will permit working from home or in the field as required to deliver their role. The majority of the work hours will be spent physically in the office. Any flexible working patterns will be agreed by the direct line manager in advance. Hours of work are 44 hours per week Monday – Thursday 0730 -1730 Friday 0730 -1630 |
