Main purpose of job:
Chevening is the UK Government’s flagship international scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. Offered in over 160 countries and territories, Chevening boasts a global alumni network of over 65,000 leaders and influencers across politics, media, business, government, academia, and civil society. India hosts the largest Chevening programme in the world, with over 3,800 scholars and fellows supported since 1983. The programme in India is strengthened by partnerships with various state governments, and private organisations.
The Chevening Partnership Officer will play a critical role in securing and managing strategic partnerships with corporate, academic, government, and philanthropic stakeholders. This role is dedicated to building long-term, high-impact collaborations that elevate the Chevening brand and expand access for outstanding Indian candidates to pursue higher education in the UK.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
Partnership Development (40%)
- Identify and research new partnership opportunities aligned with Chevening’s values and objectives.
- Preparation of presentations and tailored engagement strategies for prospective partners.
- Coordinate meetings, and follow-ups with potential stakeholders.
- Support the team in maintaining and growing a portfolio of existing and prospective partners.
- Coordinate communications and reporting with current partners, ensuring high standards of service, responsiveness, and delivery of partnership commitments.
Relationship Management (20%)
- Serve as the liaison for existing Chevening partners, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Maintain partnership agreements, renewal timelines, and ensure delivery of commitments.
- Coordinate with partner and the Chevening Secretariat for invoice processing and ensuring payment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and the Chevening Secretariat to meet reporting, branding, and scholar-related obligations.
Due Diligence (20%)
- Work on the due diligence process to assess the status of potential Chevening partner – as per the Chevening format
- Coordinate with the relevant teammate in UK DBT for a more detailed analysis of the partner for UK’s reputation
Branding and Visibility (10%)
- Ensure all partnership branding is accurately represented across communication channels, events, and scholar materials.
- Work with the communications team to amplify partnership stories and impact through social media, publications, and campaigns.
- Support visibility for partners at scholar events, alumni engagements, and pre-departure and welcome back events.
Impact and Reporting (10%)
- Collect and compile data, case studies, and testimonials that demonstrate the impact of each partnership.
- Draft annual and ad-hoc reports for partners, including metrics, success stories, and return on investment.
- Maintain and update partner records in relevant databases or tracking systems.
Events and Engagement (10%)
Coordinate with the Programmes and Alumni team members to integrate partners into Chevening activities, including pre-departure, welcome back, alumni projects, and other receptions.

For British High Commission candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates, salary will be all-inclusive of INR 75,359 per month plus 12% Provident Fund and 6% Special Allowance.
Additionally, the BHC offers a great benefits package that includes annual domiciliary medical cover, plus a Group Hospitalisation Scheme with INR 500,000 floater cover for your immediate family which includes self, spouse/partner and children up to an age of 23 years and irrespective of age, only if with, physical or mental disability.
No relocation or any other related costs or assistance will be provided.
Please note – BHC does not deduct tax at source and employees are required to ensure that any requirements of local income-tax law are complied with in full. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, e.g., some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Please note – Provident Fund Transfer in and out from EPFO is not possible as BHC PF is managed by a private PF trust governed by Indian Income Tax Act, 1961. The staff still has the option to transfer out and in from a privately held PF trust which are not governed by EPFO.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
