The Communications Intern will support the Head of Communications and the Communications Officer in delivering impactful public diplomacy initiatives. The role involves helping the team identify and maximize opportunities to promote the UK to targeted audiences in Argentina.
Key responsibilities include content creation (copywriting, filming, editing, graphic design), event planning, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication skills and creativity are essential to contribute to the Embassy’s strategic messaging and outreach efforts.
In 2026, the Communications Team will focus on strengthening UK-Argentina relations, with an emphasis on promoting UK prosperity, security, and people-to-people connections, while fostering business opportunities.
This is a challenging and engaging role, as well as an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain valuable experience working for a key diplomatic mission in Argentina.
The intern will have access to a wide range of learning and development resources offered by the British Embassy and the wider UK Government network. These may include training in crisis comms, photography, AI, and more.
Roles and responsibilities:
Community Manager (40%):
- Support the Comms Officer in further developing the Embassy’s website and social media platforms. Doing research and drafts. Provide customer service replying to emails and messages received on social media.
Content Creation (40%):
- Produce promotional material for Embassy events and marketing campaigns. This would include the design of invitations and flyers, filming and editing videos, or photography, etc.
Event planning (10%):
- Assist in the planning and delivery of Embassy events. This involves contributing creative ideas, supporting logistics, and ensuring communication materials are prepared and aligned with event goals.
Media & Influencers (10%):
- Support the Communications Officer and Head of Communications in identifying and liaising with media outlets and content creators. Assist in managing media relations and coverage for Embassy initiatives. Monitoring media for specific news and references.
Candidates must have the legal status to live and work in Argentina at time of Application

- Must be enrolled in university undertaking a Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or any other relevant degree related to these areas.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing/drafting skills in both English and Spanish.
- Basic graphic design.
- Good video editing skills.
- Ability to work well with others and in a team.
- A flexible, proactive, and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention-to-detail.
Language requirements:
Language: English and Spanish.
Level of language required: Proficient

Learning and development opportunities:
The Comms Intern will be able to participate in any training delivered in-house and will have the opportunity to complete any e-learning or Diplomatic Academy chapter or external training they find relevant to their position.
