Main purpose of job:
The Content Producer will be the exclusive cameraperson and editor in the Marketing and Communications (Marcomms) team for the British High Commission’s Trade and Investment function.
You will be expected to produce end-to-end high quality engaging content through a variety of filming formats including but not limited to piece to camera, documentary-style, behind the scenes, and post-event wrap up showcase. Whilst we expect video production to be the main skillset of the job holder, capturing visually striking photos during important official engagements will also be an important part of this role.
The job holder will be key in planning creative Communications campaigns, ensuring content is planned, designed, and developed in a strategic manner considering different social media platforms, target audiences and Communications objectives. You will need to travel all over India and across South Asia regularly to deliver on organisational objectives and will work directly with the various regional communications team to develop their content production skills.
This is an exciting role where creativity, proven content production skills and political awareness can be combined to deliver engaging content, reaching significant audiences on British High Commission’s Trade-focussed digital channels. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Press and Media in Mumbai and will work closely with Marcomms colleagues across South Asia region.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
Content Production (60%)
- Be accountable for building profiles of key Trade and Investment spokespeople at the British High Commission on digital and social media via targeted and snappy videos.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the South Asia region to develop high-quality original video content in line with key strategic objectives and in accordance with His Majesty’s Government’s (HMG) global brand guidelines.
- Act as the dedicated in-house photographer and videographer for the Marcomms team with a knack to experiment newer ways of filming and editing videos.
- Champion storytelling that results in high performing content for British High Commission’s trade vertical.
- Work closely with the UkinIndia content and digital teams on trade-related video deliverables especially during High Commissioner’s business engagements in the region.
- Assist wider sector teams in procuring and briefing third party suppliers for content creation, particularly videographers and photographers during surge period.
Planning (20%)
- The job holder should be passionate bout providing insights and direction for content production that enhances the UkinIndia/South Asia priorities in a way that attracts audiences we are seeking to engage and influence.
- You should be able to prioritise competing responsibilities, deliver at pace and be confident in experimenting with new ideas.
- Work closely with the Head of Press & Media in seeing the big picture and adjust filming styles and formats basis spokesperson’s comfort and request.
Training and Capability (10%)
- Deliver training on content production skills and techniques, either remotely or occasionally face-to-face to sector teams to manage expectations.
- Monitor output from all local teams, capturing and sharing examples of best practice across the network and identifying teams/colleagues who would benefit from further training or support.
Logistics & Support (10%)
- Lead on content capture responsibilities during high-profile ministerial and VIP visits and events.
- Assist the wider Communications team with delivery of creative content during key events and visits.

Essential on arrival:
- A strong track record in creating end-to-end videos and digital content (Video Creation & Video Editing)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience producing high quality visual content for impactful communications campaigns.
- Proficient in using latest artwork and video editing tools such as Canva, Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and similar that matches industry standards.
- Knowledge of new content formats and styles including Instagram reels, text overlay videos, etc.
- Ability to work flexibly and able to switch tasks and manage multiple projects as priorities dictate.

For British High Commission candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC Candidates, salary will be all-inclusive of INR 75,359 month plus 12% Provident Fund and 6% Special Allowance. Salary is non-negotiable.
Additionally, the BHC offers a great benefits package that includes annual domiciliary medical cover, plus a Group Hospitalisation Scheme with INR 500,000 floater cover for your immediate family which includes self, spouse/partner and children up to an age of 23 years and irrespective of age, only if with, physical or mental disability.
No relocation or any other related costs or assistance will be provided.
Please note – BHC does not deduct tax at source and employees are required to ensure that any requirements of local income-tax law are complied with in full. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, e.g., some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
