The British Embassy in Tashkent is part of a world-wide network representing British values along with mutual political and economic benefits overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services Assistant.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day admin work of the Corporate Services team and will work closely with Corporate Services Officer. You will support and manage the procurement requests of services and goods received by the Corporate Services team. You will maintain and manage float, welcome packs, stationery, inventory of office and furniture. Accompany diplomats when needed for local registration procedures. 

You will act as a bridge between staff assigned to the British Embassy from the UK along with their family members and the Embassy’s Corporate Services team. 

Roles and responsibilities

Procurement:

1.  Support and purchase office and other supplies, equipment, and services.

2. Monitoring utilities and facilitate bank payments.

3. Purchase of supplies and equipment for the maintenance team.

Inventory Management:

1. Assist CSO in maintaining inventory of float and furniture.

2. Assist CSO in maintaining welcome packs.

Other duties:

1. Accompany diplomats when needed for local registration procedures;

2. Liaise with the Estates manager about new family housing needs;

3. Complete walk in and walk out checks of accommodations with Estates Manager;

4.  Provide groceries for the first 24 hours upon diplomats arrival;

5. Welcoming all staff accompanying families to ensure as smooth integration as possible into the life of the Post community;

6. Providing community induction for diplomats (shops, clinics, nurseries, schools etc.);

7. Organising monthly social gatherings with diplomats and their accompanying families;  

8. Any other reasonable duties as required to support the CS team;

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English (minimum C1 level for CEFR framework*), Uzbek (minimum A2 level for CEFR framework*) and Russian (minimum B2 level for CEFR framework*) languages .
  • Previous relevant background and minimum one (1) year of experience in Admin roles
  • Good IT Skills, especially standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Strong organisational and communication skills;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to handle procurement processes;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to prioritise;

It will be a plus:

  • Experience of working with an international institution.
