Main purpose of job:
The Corporate Services Manager (CSM) will manage the corporate services team in the British Deputy High Commission, Hyderabad; leading an efficient, cost effective and professional team to deliver all services to the partners (from across the UK government) on the platform provided by the British High Commission in India. The CSM will ensure that the functioning and management of the corporate services team is robust and compliant in the areas of finance, estates, security, IT, Transport, Protocol, HR, and other associated administrative tasks. The position requires a practical, hands-on approach to ensure the functions and processes are efficient, smooth-running and represent good value for money. As the driving force for corporate delivery, the jobholder will support the senior leadership team providing corporate, financial and local insight to inform decision making. This role will lead and develop a team of 2 corporate services staff, with oversight of outsourced service providers and report to the Deputy Head of Mission.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
Strategic Planning and Leadership- 15%
- Support of the corporate agenda including the country business plan and risk management.
- Act as trusted advisor to local leadership and partners on the platform ‘horizon scanning’ locally to enable proactive resource and activity planning.
- Manage the One-HMG platform process and support regional teams, promoting inclusiveness at post.
- Actively build and deepen relationships with key stakeholders at post, within regional and global hubs and with external partners (at other diplomatic missions, government departments and suppliers) to maintain informed and current corporate knowledge.
- Ensure local policies are reviewed and aligned to global and local requirement and adopted by all partners
- Lead on audits and the Management Assurance Process. Lead on Health, Safety, Compliance and fraud at post. Be accountable to the correct standards with regards to health, safety, compliance and fraud on the platform.
- Lead and manage the Corporate Services team and monitor the delivery of services against the local corporate services charter; managing and mitigating corporate risks as they occur.
- Champion and embed a collaborative and inclusive culture
Corporate Delivery- 75% (Estates, IT, Finance, Procurement, HR, Security, Transport, Protocol)
- Manage all corporate delivery at BDHC Hyderabad working closely with India network teams and regional HR, finance and commercial hubs and the Global Processing Transaction Centre (GTPC).
- Management of the estate (the office and one rented residence of the DHC) ensuring that UK and local standards and compliance are met through planned and reactive maintenance and in compliance with corporate procedures, including local and UK health and safety regulations and policy.
- Oversee and ensure that Health & Safety, Compliance and fraud measures are all being followed in line with FCDO standards.
- To be the designated ‘Contract Manager’ for FCDO contracts and act as the ‘intelligent client’ at post, identifying requirements, appropriate service level agreements and key performance indicators to manage and monitor local and Pan India supplier contracts.
- Manage the local delegated budget in accordance with corporate policies to ensure on-budget expenditure and value for money.
- Be the IT Support Officer (ITSO) for BDHC Hyderabad ensuring administration of FCDO and locally managed IT and telephony systems, platform and equipment as per FCDO operating procedures and collaborating with relevant stakeholders in New Delhi and UK.
- Oversee the necessary paperwork required for protocol permissions and develop and maintain good relations with key government contacts in protocol, the airport, customs and the police.
- Be the point of contact for HR at the BDHC, liaising with the New Delhi and regional HR teams.
- Work with the Visits, Events and Communication officer to ensure smooth operations of events at the Residence and other BDHC Hyderabad events at external venues.
- Work with the DHC’s office to ensure crisis preparedness including crisis exercises and ensuring relevant information is always kept updated.
- Support the Post Security Manager with post security committee meetings and implementation of security recommendations.
- Management of the transport team and ensuring smooth functioning of transport services for BDHC Hyderabad.
- Instil a continuous improvement mentality within the team, implement corporate projects and the change management required to deliver them.
- Protocol – Diplomatic accreditation, Visas and Other documentation. Arrivals and departures for diplomatic staff and their families

- Ensure wellbeing and engagement are maintained within the corporate services team, seeking regular feedback and embedding the values of resilience, respect and expertise.
- Ensure cross training within corporate services roles to provide resilience within the teams and across the Southern India Network and plan long term resource and development needs
- Respond to operational crisis, providing leadership and flexing team prioritisation as required.
- Create and embed a culture of continuous learning and development within the Corporate Services team.

For British High Commission candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC Candidates, salary will be all-inclusive of INR 75,359 per month plus 12% Provident Fund and 6% Superannuation.
Additionally, the BHC offers a great benefits package that includes annual domiciliary medical cover, plus a Group Hospitalisation Scheme with INR 500,000 floater cover for your immediate family which includes self, spouse/partner and children up to an age of 23 years and irrespective of age, only if with, physical or mental disability.
No relocation or any other related costs or assistance will be provided. FCDO does not pay for any travelling, accommodation & relocation expenses incurred and/or accept any financial risk, including cancellation or reschedule costs
Please note – BHC does not deduct tax at source and employees are required to ensure that any requirements of local income-tax law are complied with in full. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, e.g., some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
