Main purpose of job:
To drive the Defence Section predominantly the Defence Advisor
Roles and responsibilities
- Driving vehicle 70% (for Def Sect staff) & Support Def Sect on different errands as required
- Ensuring passengers and/or cargo reach their destination on time
- Ensuring full compliance with road safety and traffic regulations in the performance of duties
- Making sure all documents for assigned vehicles (road worthy certificates and insurances) are kept valid
- Ensuring all car accessories including first aid kit, Jack & wheel puller, spare tire, fire extinguisher are intact before using official vehicles
- Ensuring passengers sign the ATUDs prior to driver details
- Accurately maintaining ATUD records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption
- Assisting ADA 10% in transporting UK Military personnel (STTT’s, visits etc)
- Utilising local knowledge 5% with regard to vehicle maintenance, purchases of spare parts, hiring vehicles etc
- Assisting ADA 10% with storage and issuance of kit and equipment for STTT’s & visitors.
- Keeping Def Sect vehicles clean, tidy and in good working condition 5%; ensuring that maintenance schedule is strictly adhered to.
- Ensuring personal driver’s license remain valid
- Driving Defence Section unsociable hours 25% Events & meetings
- Driving to Liberia & Guinea to fulfil the Defence Sections job role.
