Main purpose of job:
Supporting mission logistics by providing reliable transportation services for personnel, equipment, and documents.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating mission vehicles to transport staff and materials to designated locations.
- Performing routine vehicle checks and ensuring timely maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and vehicle condition.
- Adhering to traffic regulations and mission-specific safety protocols.
- Communicating with dispatch or mission coordinators for route planning and updates.
- Assisting with loading and unloading cargo when required.
Administrative Assistant
- Provide cover for the receptionist as needed, ensuring smooth front desk operations and maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors and staff.
- Answering and routing phone calls
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintaining visitor logs and security protocols
- Keeping the reception area tidy and presentable
- Attending to purchasing and bill payments as required
- Delivery and collection of documents to/from government ministries and departments.
- General support to wider Corporate Services Team as instructed by the Logistics and Protocol Manager.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
- Operate mission vehicles in accordance with local traffic laws and organisational safety standards.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, fuelled, and maintained in good working condition.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods or equipment when necessary.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules and adapt to changes in plans or emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with mission staff and dispatch for coordination and updates.
Expected Achievements:
- Ensure timely and safe transportation of mission staff and materials.
- Maintain high standards of vehicle care and operational readiness.
- Support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of mission logistics.
- Contribute to a positive and professional image of the mission through courteous and responsible driving.

Essential on arrival:
- Over 5 year of prior driving experience (commercial or personal)
- Valid driver’s license (Passenger car and dual purpose vehicle)
- Minimum Qualification required is GCE ordinary level (O-Level)
- Clean and safe driving record
- Familiarity with different vehicle types
- Skilled in both Urban and highway driving conditions
Language requirements:
- Language: English, Tamil/Sinhala
- Level of Language Required: Proficient

For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates, starting salary will be LKR 153,494 + EPF 12% + ETF 3% per month. Other benefits include 13 month’s salary (pro-rated) and medical insurance coverage.
