UKMIS (UK Mission to the United Nations)
The UK Mission to the United Nations (UN) & World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva represents the interests and policies of the UK at the international organisations in Geneva. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us for an internship within the UK Mission’s Trade and Economic team.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to delivering key UK objectives under the UK’s Integrated Review of Security, Defence and Foreign Policy in areas such as economic cooperation, trade, standards and regulation, sustainable development and science and digital technologies, and to promote UK and global prosperity through the rules-based international system.
The role will offer insight into the work of the UK Mission, and to our work with counterparts across government, including in the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Department for Business and International Trade (DBT) and the Department for Digital, Science, Innovation and Tech (DSIT) along with many more. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about and support the delivery of UK strategy in international organisations including the United Nations (UN), World Trade Organisation (WTO) and CERN.
The work can be both demanding and rewarding. We often work under time pressure in a fast-paced environment on multiple issues. This interesting internship provides the opportunity to demonstrate essential administrative and coordination skills, as well as the chance to support the development of UK policy and strategy in the international organisations.
The successful candidate will be part of the Trade and Economic team at the UK Mission in Geneva, working within the Digital, Tech and Intellectual Property sub-team. They will work closely with colleagues from across the Mission on cross-cutting issues and events to deliver wider UK diplomatic objectives.
This internship offers hands on experience, with on-the job-training and performance evaluation.
