The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is the UK government agency that helps foster UK Exports and Inward Investment. DBT officers at overseas posts liaise with the UK headquarters and other departments across the British Government to generate commercial, policy and institutional collaborations in other markets. This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a high profile, regional trade campaign in the Education sector, covering Colombia. In this role you will be developing commercial and market access work in key segments Education, including English Language Training, Educational Technologies, Higher Education, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), among others. As Business Development Manager, you will manage an existing pipeline of commercial opportunities and research and validate new opportunities as and when they arise. Your success in this position will primarily be measured on the value of exports you assist British companies to achieve in Colombia. Your performance will also be measured considering the successful implementation of market access and government relation plans that tackle barriers to trade in Colombia. The candidate will work with both commercial and policy activities to support the growth of UK market share in Colombia, playing a leading role in organising high level visits, events, market research and marketing planning. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence that will allow you to pitch your approaches appropriately. This position will see you exposed to senior government and business contacts and therefore strong communication skills and a high level of resilience and persistence are essential. You will deliver a number of high-profile events, both in Colombia and the UK that will be designed to showcase the best of British Education to our customers. This will require attention to detail and strong relationships with both contractors and our team based throughout Colombia, Latin America and in the UK. The position will suit an energetic, motivated self-starter with a passion for the education sector. It will require a positive and proactive attitude that thinks in terms of opportunities, not problems, and will be able to motivate the delivery of challenging targets. You will have the opportunity to participate at ministerial visits and meetings, trade shows, seminars, and internal and external events to develop your professional skills and experience to enhance your future career prospects. |
