Main Purpose of Job:

The British Consulate-General (BCG) in Hong Kong invites applications for a full-time (41 hours a week) IT Support Officer.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible operational contribution whilst deepening IT and administrative experience in a prestigious diplomatic mission.

This front line, customer-facing, service delivery role involves providing IT support to staff at the Consulate-General. The incumbent also has the opportunity to provide administrative support across all portfolios in the Corporate Services Teams (CST).

The CST are a small but dedicated team of 8 officers who provide corporate services (finance, procurement, human resources, protocol, IT) to circa. 100 staff in the mission. The core values of the CST are fairness, transparency, consistency and value for money. The job holder will be expected to provide a high quality and timely service in line with these values.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and some administrative and/or IT experience or a strong interest in IT combined with the willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills.

Applicants must be a Five Eyes passport holder (holder of a British, American, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian passport) and have residence status in Hong Kong enabling them to live and work legally.

  • Represent Corporate Services Team and contribute to wider activities within the BCG through active involvement in staff committees and corporate events

NB: The above list is not exhaustive, and the jobholder will be required to be flexible and take on other ad hoc tasks as required.

This role does not require an IT background as full training will be provided on arrival. IT expertise would be an advantage, but equally a readiness to learn new skills would be highly valued.
