Main purpose of job:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Housekeeper with a minimum of 5 years of experience in residential or hotel cleaning to join our team. This role involves preparing guest rooms and common areas to meet FCDO standards while providing a warm, professional welcome to visitors.
We reserve the right to review, revise or amend the roles and responsibilities from time to time reflecting the changing needs of business.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
- Visitor Greeting: Warmly welcome and professionally greet visitors upon arrival.
- Room Preparation: Prepare all rooms to FCO standards, ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting environment for guests.
- Cleaning Duties: Perform a range of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, and polishing.
- Food and Drink Safety: Ensure safe and hygienic handling of all food and drinks in the house hotel.
- Stock and Grocery Management: Oversee grocery stock levels, assist the Line Manager with the shopping list, and manage food purchases.
- Team Oversight: Overlook the cleaning and maintenance tasks within the team.
- Maintenance and Reporting: Promptly report maintenance issues, identify faults or breakages, and proactively manage normal wear and tear.
- Laundry Services: Provide laundry services for official linens and related items.
- Additional Tasks: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
- Flexible availability required, including occasional evenings and weekends. Overtime will be compensated.

Essential on arrival:
- Prior experience of housekeeper or house bearer
- Minimum education requirement is Secondary School Certificate (SSC).
- Must have the ability to manage household task such as laundry, cleaning, and general organisation.
- Be trustworthy with a strong sense of confidentially.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and guidance.
- Ability to follow directions, take feedback positively and treat co-workers and Line Manager with respect and courtesy.
- Ensure adequate level of hygiene in maintained.

For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 70,081 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.
Please note that the current salaries are being dollarized and processed in USD (using a fixed corporate exchange rate from November 2022) to provide cushion against the current external market conditions. This is a temporary measure and is subject to review at regular intervals. The payroll will revert to local currency processing once the external market conditions are normalised.
BHC offers a great benefits package that comprises of Annual Domiciliary cover and Medical Insurance Scheme which includes PKR 1,500,000 floater coverage per family for self, one spouse/long term partner and children under the age of 19 or under 23, if in full-time education and not gainfully employed. The Annual Domiciliary cover for day-to-day medical payments is upto PKR 200,000 per family (basis actual bills submission).
Additionally, The British High Commission contributes to a retirement provision in the form of a mandatory provident fund.
