The British Embassy in The Hague is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is seeking to recruit a Human Resource and Protocol Officer (HR&P Officer).
The HR&P Officer will be part of a small team that supports the whole of the UK in The Netherlands (UKinNL) network in the delivery of central HR and Protocol policy.
This role will allow for partnership and collaboration with staff from across the network who are based in the Embassy, International Organisations or elsewhere in-country. This role would suit someone who is customer focussed, organised, creative, preferably with a proven track record in supporting others. Strong communications and organisational skills are essential pre-requisite.

The base salary for this position is € 3578.16 gross per month, based on a working week of 36 hours. In addition, an 8% holiday bonus is payable each year. The successful candidate will initially be offered a 12 month employment contract with the possibility of renewal, at AO grade level.

Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in the Netherlands and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the legal requirements to live and work in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will be required to provide a BSN (citizen service number) on their start date and will need to arrange and pay for their own travel and accommodation, as well as any other living costs. The successful candidate will undergo a professional background check. Any job offer is also subject to a successful security clearance check.
Salary/tax conditions: Successful candidates who are not liable to pay local income tax will have their salary abated by an amount equal to that which would be paid if they were liable to pay local income tax (also known as notional tax). It is for individual successful candidates to seek tax advice from a professional tax expert. The Embassy is not in a position to offer advice on whether you are liable to pay local tax or not.

Working Patterns: The Embassy currently offers a hybrid work pattern. For this role the officer is currently permitted to work from home 2 days a week and can also choose to work 5 days in the office if preferred. A set pattern of working from home days is encouraged but can be negotiated with the line manager.
