Main Purpose of Job: The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office works to create an open and stable international order. We aim to shape societies which are fair, just and which respect human rights. The Rule of Law Team in the British Embassy works to improve the human rights and governance situation in Mexico. We attempt to work with and influence the Mexican Government on priority areas such as gender rights, media freedom, forced disappearances, corruption, transparency, and the protection of human rights defenders. We support and strengthen civil society and those working to create fairer societies. This job contributes to that effort by supporting the Rule of Law Team in its efforts to improve the human rights and governance situation in Mexico. You will provide administrative support to the team and occasionally to the wider political section. This might include maintaining a network of contacts, organising events, drafting public communications, project management, budget management, and administrative tasks. |

The International Academy within the FCDO and the learning and development committee offer help to plan your learning and development. Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right. The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks.
