The British Embassy in Hungary is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas.
We are now looking for an Intern to work with the Embassy’s Policy Team to help to deliver specific additional work over the coming months. The successful candidate could be recent graduates who have limited work experience and an interest in building up career experience in a field related to the Embassy’s activities.
This role is to provide administrative and logistical support to the Embassy’s Policy Team, and the successful candidates should expect the role to consist largely of this type of work. In particular, the role will focus on supporting projects related to the Embassy’s Country Business Plan, mainly the delivery of the UK-Hungary bilateral forum (Chain Bridge Forum). The role will also support the policy team in improving and modernising processes – in particular through the use of AI.
This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in a fast-paced international policy environment in preparation for a career in this field. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support a specific project through the full lifecycle, from planning to delivery.
- Providing general support to the Mentor on work strands related to the Embassy’s Bilateral Strategy and the delivery of the Chain Bridge Forum, including assisting preparation work and potentially the delivery of the event on-site (in the UK); (30%)
- Providing administrative and logistical support on Embassy projects, including making travel plans and accommodation bookings, keeping track of budgets and communicating with contacts, stakeholders and customers; (30%)
- Providing support to improve ways of working within the policy team, including on increased use of AI and improving the team’s information management and storage systems; (30%).
- Providing support to the Political Team, including on ad-hoc administrative and research tasks such as writing reports, keeping meeting records, compiling bios and other summaries, and stakeholder mapping. (10%)
