Main Purpose of Job:
You will be the regional lead for the Office for Product Safety and Standard (OPSS) regulatory reform work in ASEAN; working closely with the Head of International Delivery you will be responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of the new ASEAN Economic Integration Programme (EIP), Regulatory Reform Pillar. As the OPSS lead in ASEAN, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining local and regional relationships with senior stakeholders. You will lead a team of in-country regulatory reform attachés and local contractors to successfully deliver a number of cross-cutting and complex regional and bilateral projects which will support ASEAN and ASEAN Member States (AMS) priorities on regulatory reform, ensuring delivery is tailored to the ASEAN context.
You will provide expert advice and insights on ASEAN policies, political and economic systems, institutions, and decision-making process.
What the Jobholder will be Expected to Achieve:
The successful candidate will lead the ASEAN Regulatory Reform team, and will work closely with colleagues from OPSS, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and wider UK government Stakeholders as well as stakeholders from partner governments to:

Working Patterns:
There will be a requirement for domestic and international travel as appropriate. Due to time differences and the nature of the role there will be some calls and work outside of core office hours. Flexible and/or hybrid working arrangements will be considered and agreed with line manager.
Open to permanent residents or those with right to work. Interstate applicants will be required to meet their own travel and relocation expenses. No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. All candidates must be legally able to work and reside in the country of the vacancy with the correct visa/work permit status or demonstrate eligibility to obtain the relevant permit. The Embassy will sponsor the visa applications for non-Indonesian candidates should they be selected for the role based on the sift and interview process.
