The role of Security Guard is to maintain the integral security of the British Embassy and Ambassador’s Residence locations in Vientiane against a range of threats identified by the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Working within a team on a shift basis, the guard force will provide working hours security at the Embassy and at the Ambassador’s Residence.
- Conducting access control of visitors and vehicles entering the Embassy compound and residence.
- Maintaining a visitor’s log, issuing visitors passes and providing the initial point of contact for all Embassy visitors.
- Regular patrolling of the Embassy and Residence locations.
- Other ad-hoc duties including providing basic assistance to disabled visitors and raising/ lowering the British flag at specified times.

This role is advertised as a full-time, maternity leave cover for 4.5 months.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy Vientiane are subject to terms and conditions of service according to local Lao employment law. No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. You must have or be able to obtain work authorisation for Laos in order to apply.
