The British Embassy in Tripoli has a vacancy for a Finance Officer under Conflict Stability and Security Fund (CSSF), job grade Executive Officer (EO).
The British Embassy in Tripoli maintains and develops relations between the UK and Libya. Our mission is to support the stability, security and prosperity of Libya and strengthen the UK-Libya partnership. Our teams in Libya cover a range of issues, including diplomatic engagement, defence and trade and investment.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the Conflict Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) programme in Libya.
The jobholder will work to support the financial delivery of an exciting portfolio of projects supporting stability and peace in Libya, working with delivery partners to ensure high quality, timely delivery and good financial management.
The CSSF is a unique cross-government Fund tackling some of the most complex challenges to international peace and stability faced by the UK and our partners around the world.
In this role, you will be expected to support programme delivery and management to a range of projects.

The British Embassy in Tripoli offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including a non-negotiable salary of USD 2,133 per month inclusive of all allowances. INAS deductions will be applied.
This position is for a full-time employment, on a fixed-term basis for one-year (renewable). The successful candidate will be subject to a one thirty (30) working days probationary period. The appointment will also be subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.
Conditioned working hours are 40 hours gross per week. Standard working hours are from 08:00-16:30 from Sunday to Thursday. The role is a full-time position based in Tripoli. The jobholder will be expected to be available to work from the British Embassy to Tripoli’s office, and travel using personal transport to meetings in locations in the city. Flexible working may also be permitted, allowing the jobholder to work-from-home occasionally in agreement with their line manager and subject to business requirements.
The Job holder may be required to occasionally work out of hours as part of the role.

Process:
The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take around 2-3 months. The security clearance process includes checks available in country and with UK, dependant on the security level required for the role and the candidate’s profile and UK footprint. You may experience some delay in the progress of this recruitment campaign, and we are working hard to minimise any disruption.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful at interview may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of six (6) months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
The start date mentioned in the job advert is a tentative start date and the successful candidate will be required to undergo security-vetting procedures. Any offer of employment will be subject to the candidate achieving suitable clearances.
