The Governor’s Office, Anguilla is seeking to recruit a professional with strong customer service, administrative and organisational skills for the position of Maintenance & Transport Officer. You will work under the supervision of the Residence & Estates Manager. The main purpose of the role is to lead on the preventative maintenance work for the Governor’s Office, Residence and all leased properties in accordance with established FCDO policy and best practice. You will work closely with various contractors to ensure work is carried out as planned under FCDO guidelines. You will be responsible for the Office’s Crown and Pool vehicles.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and dynamic team player with sound knowledge of property management, procurement, health and safety and project management.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Supervise, and carry out routine maintenance work and other minor repairs at the Governor’s office, residence and leased properties ensuring compliance with the FCDO’s health and safety standards.
- Regularly monitor water and gas assets at all properties as well as maintenance checks to ensure they are working correctly.
- Carry out regular physical safety checks of all buildings.
- Ensure contractors complete the maintenance of HVAC, generator, lightening protection rods and fire alarm systems at the Office as stated in the various contracts.
- Support the Estates Manager with tracking the maintenance budget.
- Supervise external contractors during maintenance services ensuring health & safety orientation.
- Assist visiting Service Technicians and Engineers with the annual inspection programmes.
- Assist with the Governor’s Office Preventative Maintenance Plan for all properties.
- Report any maintenance or repair work/requests to the Estates Manager.
- Undertake work in accordance with the submission of Maintenance Request forms ensuring the works are executed within the agreed timeframe.
- Undertake works as required, based on the recommendations from visiting Electrical, Gas and Fire Inspectors.
- Undertake driving tasks as required and directed, adhering traffic laws and regulations, the FCDO’s transport policy, and always ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Carry out regular physical safety checks on the vehicles and maintain service logs.
- Other tasks in support of the Governor’s Office including, but not limited to, delivery of mail and assisting in event management.
