The Department for Business and Trade is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Manager Trade & Investment, to support the delivery of the DBT objectives in Poland and Central Europe through high quality, engaging and effective communication & marketing activities, based at the British Embassy in Warsaw.
Main responsibilities:
- Promoting British exports to Poland and Central Europe the UK as a destination for investors via a full spectrum of modern communications channels, including social media;
- Leading on the region’s contribution to DBT Europe’s flagship campaigns for Trade and Investment;
- Supporting the Trade & Investment Team in Poland and Central Europe on communications and media relations including providing expert advice to Country Directors and Campaign Leads;
- Leading on the region’s contribution to the comms objectives of DBT’s Regional Trade Plan for Europe, ensuring full alignment of local DBT communications with DBT Europe and HMG priorities (in consultation with Marketing & Communications Director Europe) as well as Embassy Comms Team;
- Leading on delivery of large events and project under the GREAT campaign, including bidding for funding, cooperation with internal and external service providers and stakeholders, logistics and comms/media coverage, budget management;
- Creating and delivering comms strategies for DBT campaigns as well as marketing plans in the run up to, during and after events;
- Lead on the Application of modern digital event management tools to DBT projects;
- Generating and disseminating attractive and relevant content from DBT events;
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of campaigns, initiatives, events and advising Head of Communications/others as relevant on lessons learnt;
- Establishing and maintaining contact with relevant external stakeholders.

- Excellent level of written and spoken English and Polish (both oral and written, minimum C1 level)*;
- At least BA degree in a related field
- Proven track record of success in public communications
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and ability to assess and initiate activities independently
- Excellent writing skills experience in drafting engaging, speeches, articles and other forms
- Experience in organising successful events for senior stakeholders
- Experience in drafting communication strategies
- Experience working with social media and other digital media and producing impactful content
- Ability to apply different styles of communication and tailor messaging for different audiences
- Forward-thinking mind-set– looking for trendy, real-time solutions to develop catchy and effective content;
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment;
- Strong IT skills in MS Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.

This is a full-time fixed-term position for 5 days (37.5 hours net) per week, from Monday to Friday, for the period of 2 years subject to satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months.
The gross salary for this position is PLN 11,757 gross per month.
Other benefits:
- Working hours are flexible.
- Staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for agreed extra hours worked.
- The annual leave entitlement is 20 or 26 days per year pro rata.
- The Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Polish/UK public holidays per year.
Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by the local law.
The successful candidate will be subject to reference checks and the satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months.
Candidates must have pre-existing right to live and work in Poland for the duration of the job offer in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Warsaw are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to Polish employment law.
Visa / Passport requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Poland and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the legal requirements to live and work in this country.

Working patterns: The British Embassy Warsaw has a strong commitment to work/life balance. Standard office hours are 8.30-16.30 with flexi-hours possibility within the opening hours 8.00-18.00. We also have mobile technology and offer hybrid working with remote working days to be agreed with Line Managers.
