- To facilitate cooperation and engagement on the return and reintegration of Ethiopian nationals in the UK unlawfully.
- To build effective working relationships on migration and returns with internal and external stakeholders, including within the Ethiopian Government.
- To support the Migration Delivery Officer on the delivery of regional migration and returns objectives, including case work and administrative assistance.
- To support Home Office International Operations on the delivery of its objectives in Ethiopia, including investigations and liaison to tackle immigration related threats to the UK.
Roles and responsibilities
- Undertaking case work to facilitate returns.
- Building and managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and facilitating engagement on migration and returns.
- Developing and overseeing migration and returns projects.
- Supporting Home Office International Operations on its activities in Ethiopia.
- Reporting to Home Office and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on migration and returns developments in Ethiopia and the region.
- Providing administrative and organisational support to Home Office and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office colleagues on migration and returns.
- Travel within Ethiopia, East Africa and to the UK as required.

- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or minimum of 7 years work experience in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in the field of migration.
- Exceptional understanding of the political, social and economic context in Ethiopia.
- Commitment to the values of integrity, reliability, and discretion.
Language requirements:
Fluent (orally and written) in English and Amharic

- Working patterns: Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 14:00 (including a one hour lunch break) Specific requests for flexibility will be considered.
- Occasionally due to operational priorities there may be occasions when the successful applicant maybe required to work outside of these hours,
