Main purpose of job:
- To provide efficient, high quality IT support, ensuring smooth running of IT services across the Embassy Platform.
- To deliver operational and strategic IT projects in cooperation with London KTD
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
- Provide a focal point for IT users in the Embassy on all IT related queries, by acting as a local Help Desk support responding to queries.
- Liaise with London Helpdesk to resolve IT issues when necessary.
- Support IT infrastructure management and upkeep of servers, systems, network, and Application support.
- Actively support the maintenance and integrity of the Embassy’s IT infrastructure, reporting incidents and degradations to Helpdesk.
- Prepare local user guides and manuals for standalone systems, IT and technical systems, induction for newly appointed staff, and adhoc training.
- Deliver IT project solutions, present own ideas in line with the FCDO rules considering feasibility at Post, oversee and control of delivery, if applicable.
- Maintain up-to-date Post Information Asset Register (IAR) to ensure that information assets are managed in accordance with official policy and guidance.
- Support the rollout of centrally designed computer-based programmes by carrying out defined implementation tasks such as coordinating schedules, preparing documentation, and providing user guidance.
- Engage with local telecom and IT suppliers to gather information, clarify service requirements, and explain relevant procedures. This includes responding to routine queries, providing updates, and ensuring suppliers understand operational guidelines.

- Take part as IT support during Crisis
- Collaborate with other IT teams around the region and within the UK, to resolve issues and enhance service delivery

Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy Manila is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Philippine employment law.

All candidates must be legally able to work and reside in the country of the vacancy with the correct visa/work permit status or demonstrate eligibility to obtain the relevant permit. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
