Main purpose of job:
To assist Plant Engineers in Plant room operations.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
Plantroom Technicians will be required to work within the plantroom following the established shift routines within. Working closely with the Boiler Engineers, the Technicians will monitor and record running machinery measured parameters and report to the Boiler Engineers any abnormalities. Trained (locally) to have an understanding in HVAC systems, electrical supply and distribution systems via generators and WAPDA, water supply and distribution, including chemical addition and measuring ensuring that water quality remains within specified limits. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and carry out the correct actions should an emergency occur.
- Cleaning of all motors, pipes, equipment, motors and floors at chancery, HOIO, generator room, WAPDA room, Jinnah building area, residence plant, and softener room – 20%
- Provide chemical samples daily from 13 sampling points- 05%
- Feeding of chemical daily to all system water according to analysis/ instructions and chemical balance reports. 10%
- Taking chlorine samples from all tanks and tap points at chancery and HOIO plant, Dozing of chlorine to all tanks as per requirements and instructions. – 05%
- Daily, salt feeding softener – 05%
- Attending /participating in day-to-day maintenance such as replacements of belts and AHU filters brine tank preparation – 05%
- Greasing of plant motors. When required 05%
- Tower sump cleaning of immigration and domestic after 2 months 05%
- Diesel level checking from time to time at chancery and domestic -02%
- Gas and electric meter readings with WAPDA and Gas personals-02%
- Cleaning of conductivity cell, for cooling tower- 05%
- Setting diffuser in the Elizabeth building with the help of boilers engineer. 02%
- Purging and vacuum of chillers at domestic and chancery -05%
- Photocopies of logbooks sheets and other required documents – 02%
- Cleaning of chilled water system of Jinnah Building thrice in a year- 02%
- Fully involved in maintenance of plant from October to March and BV inspections in the month of February – 10%
- Day to day maintenance task with plant engineer -10%
- Provide leave cover to the Plant Engineer and Technician.
- Any other Task assigned by LM

- C Class Boiler Engineer certificate from Boiler Board.
- Technically minded with the capacity to be further trained and to take on new responsibilities.
- Have a methodical approach to identifying problems early and respond quickly to developing situations where further actions may be required.

For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 76,747 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.
‘Please note that the current salaries are being dollarized and processed in USD (using a fixed corporate exchange rate from November 2022) to provide cushion against the current external market conditions. This is a temporary measure and is subject to review at regular intervals. The payroll will revert to local currency processing once the external market conditions are normalised.
