Communications, Press and Media, Political
Main purpose of job:
The intern will provide support across different areas of the Embassy, including communications, political affairs, projects, environment, consular and corporate services. Through this opportunity, the Embassy will provide valuable work experience for an Ecuadorean university student. This role will be of particular benefit to those whose studies focus on fields relevant to the activities of the British Embassy Quito (BEQ). These could include but are not limited to communications, international relations, law, development studies, climate change, and economics.
Roles and responsibilities:
The intern will support the Political, Communications and Projects teams across a wide range of areas including research and briefings on key political, social and economic issues of interest to the UK, and will help with the Embassy’s communication efforts through social media channels, supporting the delivery of Embassy-funded projects and events. The intern will also provide support related to other-section events and visits, as well as other ad hoc tasks required to assist with the functioning of the Embassy.
In addition, all members of the BEQ staff play an important role in responding to crises, should they arise. The intern will receive crisis training to enable them to fulfil this part of the role.

This is a 6-month Civil Contract (must be enrolled in an undergraduate programme at time of contract signing).
