The British Embassy in Paris, part of the British Government’s France Network, is one of the UK’s most important diplomatic missions, representing British economic, political, security, and consular interests. We are now looking for a Programmes and Operations Officer in our Department for Business and Trade team that drives the UK’s growth agenda with France. Main Purpose of Job: In this role you will sit at the heart of the DBT team in France. Our team of around 35 people drive UK economic growth through trade and investment, working to make the UK the brand of choice in France and to attract the investment needed to prepare our economy for the future. You will lead delivery of various cross-cutting programmes and events, working collaboratively with a range of colleagues in British Embassy Paris and the business community. You will also support the delivery of important operations in the team such as business planning, performance monitoring and the induction processes for new joiners. The role suits someone who is well organised, creative and enjoys working in a central team in which they are involved in the delivery of varied programmes and projects. The nature of the job will require you some work outside of the Embassy’s normal working hours when events are held in the early morning or evening, however, time off in lieu will be granted to cover this work. In addition to working on some of our most high-profile work, the position provides various training and development opportunities and access to an organisation that prides itself on its staff wellbeing programmes and flexible working practices. This is a full time, permanent contract. The position is based on a 35/h week. The monthly salary is € 3,834.00 (gross). In addition, staff receive meal contribution.

Learning and Development opportunities: The France Network puts a very strong emphasis on L&D and the jobholder will be able to benefit from opportunities offered by the International Academy and civil service learning, as well as informal opportunities within the Embassy on topics.
The DBT France network has a strong ethos of Learning & Development, including internal L&D courses and a budget that can be used for external opportunities. In addition, there will be many opportunities to attend seminars and events on relevant issues. This is in addition to the induction programme offered to all staff.
The successful applicant will be encouraged to be actively involved in the corporate life of the British Embassy, contributing to the wider objectives of the British Government’s through the France network and supporting the British Embassy’s positive working environment.
Working Pattern: The position is based on a 35- hour working week.
This is a full-time position. Our team works flexibly, including some time working remotely. However, in line with current policy, the job holder will be expected to be in the office at least 60% of the week – and more often when required e.g. during events or when filming is required.
