Main purpose of job:
The Project Manager – Technical Works Group (TWG) will be responsible for managing and overseeing ongoing projects at the British High Commission in Islamabad. These include residential and office refurbishment, Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) work, and project manage the Forward Maintenance Register (FMR) projects. The officer will work closely with the Technical Work Group and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Roles and responsibilities that a jobholder will be expected to achieve:
- Lead on the delivery of small- to medium-scale projects across the estate, including residential and office accommodation upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and compliance-related works funded by FCDO or FMR.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers, and status reports, ensuring all relevant documentation is up to date.
- Prepare BOQ for Project and liaison with TWG store to process procurement for the project related work.
- Monitor the Project cost and produce report for the budget managers.
- Provide regular updates to the CMS – Head of Estates or Head of Technical Works Group and escalate risks or issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project by creating work break down structure.
- Track progress against timelines and adjust plans as needed.
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely execution.
- Track and report cost performance using MS Project and other tools.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards.
- Implement quality control procedures and address any deficiencies.
- Monitor the material being issued from store is used correctly on site.
- Coordinate with Head of Estates and Head of technical department on the project earned value and budget.
- Any other task Assigned by the line manager (LM).

Essential on arrival:
- Minimum education qualification required: master’s in project management
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience required in managing construction, refurbishment, or facilities projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, cost estimation, and control.
- Proven experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver against multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Urdu, both written and verbal.
- Experience preparing project documentation, including plans, timelines, and reports.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project tracking tools.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive work forward under minimal supervision.
Language Requirements:

For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 308,312 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.
BHC offers a great benefits package that comprises of Annual Domiciliary cover and Medical Insurance Scheme which includes PKR 1,700,000 floater coverage (Hospitalization) per family for self, one spouse/long-term partner and children under the age of 19 or under 23, if in full-time education and not gainfully employed. The Annual Domiciliary cover for day-to-day medical payments is up to PKR 300,000 per family (basis actual bills submission).
Additionally, The British High Commission contributes to a retirement provision in the form of a mandatory provident fund.
