Main purpose of job:
The British Embassy Seoul is seeking for an official driver. The role provides safe, efficient and professional transport for HMA, Embassy staffs and official visitors, supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
주한영국대사관에서 운전기사님을 찾습니다. 주한영국대사관은 대한민국 내에서 영국을 대표하는 공관입니다. 지원자는 정중하고 책임감 있으며, 대한민국내 교통법규를 준수하고 대사(HMA), 대사관직원, 공식 방문객을 대상으로 안전하고 효율적인 기사서비스를 제공하는 분이어야 합니다
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
General driving duties
- Driver should be able to check traffic situation, e.g. by using navigation app, in advance and plan alternative routes to avoid traffic when needed and should check venues in advance so they know where to go on arrival.
- Drivers shall follow the traffic law and ensure to deliver customers safely to the right place such as all related ministeries; companies; airports; train stations; hotel; restaurants etc at the right time: keeping to speed limits; not over-using the horn, obeying road mark and signals.
- Be able to judge unfamiliar environments flexibly and take initiative to communicate with the Ambassador or Line Manager to ensure effective collection and arrival of the Ambassador.
- Be able to work at a very short notice – out of normal working hours/ weekend.
- Be available to perform ad-hoc tasks that require the use of a vehicle.
- Learn and accumulate driving experience, work with other team member according to work requirement.
- Record the travel log regularly, ensure the details are accurate.
Care of vehicles
- Keeping the Flag car and other embassy vehicles clean and serviceable, including being aware of when servicing/ vehicle safety test is due and liaising with Line Manager/ Transport officer to organise a suitable time for the works to be carried out.
- Daily check of tyre pressure, hydraulic fluid, oil, battery level and fuel.
- Identifying any defects as early as possible and to keep any potential risk to a minimal level. Report any fault or damage immediately to Line manager and liaison with garage to repair the vehicle.
- Keeping an accurate record of all journeys and submit to Line Manager on a regular basis, ensure car service and vehicle safety test is carried out at the appropriate times.
- Be responsible for the fines to the flag car.
- Ensure the Flag Car and Embassy cars are stocked with First Aid equipment.
Other Duties
- Keeping the Flag Car and embassy vehicles clean and presentable at all times, both inside and outside.
- Delivery of documentation to Ministry of Foreign Affairs as required.
- Ad hoc duties as directed by the Line Manager/Transport Officer.

- 운전자는교통법규를준수하여 대사관 방문객을 관련 부처, 기업, 공항, 기차역, 호텔, 식당 등 올바른 장소에 정시에 안전하게 이동시켜야 합니다. 또한 제한속도 준수, 불필요한 경적 사용 자제, 도로 표시 및 신호 준수합니다.
- 낯선환경에서도유연하게 상황을 판단하고, 대사 또는 직속 상사와 적극적으로 소통하여 대사의 원활한 이동 및 도착을 보장해야 합니다.
- 긴급상황발생 시, 정해진 근무 시간 외(야간 및 주말 포함)에도 근무할 수 있어야 합니다.
- 차량이용이필요한 수시(Ad-hoc) 업무를 수행할 수 있어야 합니다.
업무 요구에 따라 다른 팀원들과 협력하며 운전 경험을 지속적으로 학습·축적해야 합니다.
- 운행기록을정기적으로 작성합니다.
차량 관리 (Care of vehicles)
- 1호차(FlagCar)및 기타 대사관 차량을 항상 청결하고 정상 운행 가능한 상태로 유지해야 합니다. 정기 점검 및 차량 안전 검사 시기를 파악하여 상사 또는 차량 담당자와 협의해 점검 일정을 조율해야 합니다.
- 타이어공기압,유압 오일, 엔진 오일, 배터리 상태 및 연료를 매일 점검해야 합니다.
- 차량결함을최대한 조기에 발견하여 위험 요소를 최소화하고, 이상 발생 시 즉시 상사에게 보고하며 정비소와 협의하여 수리해야 합니다.
모든 운행 기록을 정확히 유지하고 정기적으로 상사에게 제출해야 하며, 차량 점검 및 안전 검사가 적절한 시기에 이루어지도록 관리해야 합니다.
- 의전차량관련 범칙금에 대해서는 개인이 책임을 집니다.
- 의전차량및 대사관 차량에 구급 용품이 항상 비치되어 있도록 해야 합니다.
기타 업무 (Other duties)
- 의전차량및 대사관 차량의 내부와 외부를 항상 청결하고 단정한 상태로 유지합니다.
- 필요시외교부에 서류를 전달합니다.
- 직속상사또는 차량 담당자의 지시에 따른 기타 수시 업무를 수행합니다.
