The British Embassy in Armenia is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas, and is now looking for a Sanctions Support Officer.
Roles and responsibilities:
• To monitor regional reporting on sanctions and provide a weekly update to London and regional colleagues in English, building up local networks and contacts in this area: 30%
• To arrange visits for the regional sanctions lead, liaising with posts as needed and building up local contacts in Amenia and Georgia, organising meetings and visit programmes: 10%
• Outside of visit programmes to provide administrative support to the regional sanctions lead as needed, including budgeting and supporting the Yerevan Corporate Services team: 10%
• To provide Armenian/Russian interpretation services including on visits within Armenia and regionally: 10%
• Project management support and other administrative duties: 30%
• Support external communications in relation to the UK sanctions regime: 10%

- Proficiency including in English, Armenian and Russian written and spoken fluency in (C1 Level *) and ability to adapt communication style to different situations
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience, including evidence of project management, engaging stakeholders, customers and partners at all levels
- Some experience in administrative roles
- Strong analytical, judgement skills and ability to deliver analytical report
- Ability and willingness to work effectively and flexibly including out of office hours; and to travel within Armenia and to Georgia
- A self-starter that can work well both individually and in a team
- Excellent organisational skills
- Willingness and desire for continual learning and development
- IT skills, including use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook

This is full-time and 10 month contract (with possibility of extension) of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) from 09:00 to 17:00. Flexible working is available. The gross monthly salary is 1,031,513 AMD (paid x12 instalments yearly). The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance. The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation to work in Armenia, in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Armenia are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Armenian employment law. The British Embassy Yerevan has a year-round focus on Learning and Development. All staff are encouraged to take an active role in their own development. Time will be made available for training courses, teach-ins, online and face to face opportunities to learn, not only about the specific role, but also more about diplomatic work of the HM Government globally.
