The British Embassy is looking to appoint a Senior Trade & Investment Adviser to join its Department for Business and Trade (DBT) team to lead on the Renewable Energy and Hydrogen sectors. The job holder will design and deliver a programme of activity that promotes a thriving UK-France commercial relationship, by helping to make the UK a brand of choice in France through British exports and developing the renewable energy sector in the UK through high quality French investment. |
The candidate will foster excellent relationships in their sector remit including (but not limited to) offshore wind and tidal energy, waste to value, hydrogen. You will join a dynamic, friendly and welcoming team of around 35 colleagues focused on promoting trade and investment between the UK and France.

The work will be high paced, varied and demanding. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, able to juggle priorities and work to tight deadlines.
The role may evolve to include line management responsibilities as business requirements evolve. The successful applicant will be expected to manage their own time, activities’ plan, event delivery, reporting, travel and operating budgets. |

This is a full-time, permanent position, 35 working hours per week. The British Embassy still currently operates a flexible working from home pattern of 2-3 days in the office and 2 days at home. This could change and the successful candidate would need to fit with the guidance in this external-facing role.
This is an interesting and varied job in an open, modern management culture; We offer an excellent working environment in a central location.
The successful applicant will have access to a budget for learning and career development. L&D opportunities are continuous. The DBT France team prioritises individual and team L&D. Opportunities include job shadowing in DBT HQ in London or across other DBT Europe offices.
The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check and security clearance.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy/ UK Delegation to OECD in Paris are subject to local Terms and Conditions of Service.
