The British Embassy in The Hague is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. It is also part of the UK’s Network in The Netherlands (including offices in Europol, the ICC and OPCW).
The British Embassy is looking for a Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) Policy Officer to join the Policy Team. This is an integral role in a high profile and dynamic team that covers a wide range of issues including politics, economics, science and technology, and migration in addition to security. The role will also work closely with UK operational SOC law enforcement partners. The Netherlands is a high priority for the full range of UK SOC operational agencies, with NCA, HMRC, HOIO, SO15 and Border Force all present on the platform.
Recent years have seen a significant step change in our policy cooperation with The Netherlands on SOC, with a ministerial level annual strategic policy dialogue. The postholder will drive this work forward, working with cross Whitehall stakeholders to deliver the UK-Dutch SOC Dialogue wider partnership activity, at the same time as identifying new opportunities to enhance delivery across SOC-related HMG equities such as counter narcotics, illicit finance, SOC / State Threat nexus activity, and fraud.
