Main Purpose of Job:
You will be part of the British High Commission’s Communications Team, who lead on all communication, media, and public diplomacy activities.
As Digital Manager, you will be responsible for developing and producing high-quality, engaging digital content that brings to life the British High Commission and UK strategic priorities for Singapore audiences. You will provide strategic digital communications advice and creative input into campaign planning, ensuring content is designed and delivered effectively across appropriate platforms to reach target audiences and achieve communications objectives. You will lead on content capture for high-level visits and events, working directly with ministers and senior officials.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
Digital Content Development and Production (60%)
- Develop and produce high-quality creative digital communications products including video, graphics, photography and short-form content in support of the BHC’s strategic objectives, tailored to Singapore audiences
- Lead on story-gathering, identifying and bringing to life compelling human-interest stories and case studies that demonstrate UK impact and capability
- Lead content capture for high-level ministerial visits, royal visits, and major BHC events, including direct interaction with ministers and senior officials to secure appropriate content
- Ensure all digital content meets accessibility standards and follows Government Communications Service and HMG branding guidelines
Strategic Digital Communications Advice (20%)
- Provide strategic advice on digital approaches to campaign delivery, pitching creative ideas that maximise engagement with Singapore audiences
- Input into campaign planning to ensure content is strategically planned, designed and developed considering platforms, target audiences, campaign objectives and evaluation requirements
- Translate policy objectives into digital communications opportunities, identifying the right digital channels and content formats to deliver impact
Digital Campaign Management and Evaluation (10%)
- Ensure digital communications are insight-driven, properly targeted, and evaluated against clear objectives
- Use audience insight and platform analytics to optimise content performance and inform strategic decisions
- Lead monitoring and evaluation of digital campaigns, using data to demonstrate impact and drive continuous improvement
Collaboration and Capability Building (10%)
- Work closely with communications colleagues to ensure digital content supports integrated campaign delivery across public diplomacy, growth mission priorities, and policy communications
- Support capability building across the mission on digital communications, sharing best practice and Government Communications Service learning and development resource

Skills:
- Proven ability to produce high-quality graphics, video and photography for digital platforms
- Competent in filming, editing and producing short-form video content suitable for social media
- Ability to create visually compelling graphics that align with brand guidelines
- Skilled in capturing professional quality images for events, visits and campaigns
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn) including best practices for content, scheduling and engagement
- Excellent copywriting skills for digital platforms, including crafting engaging captions, posts and short-form content
- Ability to interpret social media and digital analytics to inform content strategy and evaluate performance
- Ability to translate organisational objectives into effective digital communication plans
- Confidence in engaging with senior officials and VIPs during content capture at events
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience creating digital content in a professional communications, marketing, or media role
- Demonstrated experience managing organisational social media channels
- Experience contributing to communications campaigns across digital channels
- Experience of filming and photography at live events, meetings, or high-profile occasions
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software (Premiere Pro or similar), graphic design tools (Canva), social media management (Hootsuite), and Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
- Educated to minimum A-level standard or equivalent
- Fluent in written and spoken English

Working patterns:
Normal working hours are 37.5 per week: 8:30AM to 5:00PM from Monday to Friday. The team operates a ‘core hours’ policy of 10:30AM to 2:30PM with individual flexibility around that.
Terms of service:
The preferred candidate will have a creative and innovative approach to digital storytelling, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. You will be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. You will be a collaborative team player. An understanding of UK-Singapore bilateral relations would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Singapore’s media landscape and digital ecosystem.

- Staff recruited locally by the British High Commission are subject to terms and conditions of service according to local Singapore employment law.
