The Store Porter is an important role within the British High Commission, Islamabad.
We are having accommodation & furnishing items, home electronic appliance, HVAC/Power plants parts and construction materials at our stores. As a Store Porter, you will have to do issuance/return on on daily basis. The main responsibilities of this position include daily store issuance/return & keep all office record in files like issuance/return with project wise, managing tracking systems and acting as a liaison to other departments. The successful candidate will offer recommendations to ensure ideal levels of inventory in the stores.
This is a store Porter role that involves regular basis doing issuance/return and receiving new deliveries ,loading/unloading. You will have to maintain office files with project wise. As a Store Porter , you should have a solid knowledge of Good Customer relationship. You will be responsible for keeping the FCDO’s health & safety standard in all the stores.
You will work in the Technical Works Group (TWG) office of the British High Commission. TWG provides facilities management covering all domestic and commercial services the British High Commission. We are looking for a team player who is a confident, hardworking, honest having strong stores skills. The successful applicant should also have office administrative skills.
Roles and responsibilities that a jobholder will be expected to achieve:
- Store Issuance/Return – Project wise
- Liaise with supervisors and sections for compiling demands
- Suggest solutions for continuous improvements
- Keeping records of incoming and outgoing items, and maintaining accurate stock levels
- Storing the various stock items in the most appropriate fashion, i.e. binning and/or racking them by the best methods and placing them in such a way that any item or material in the store can be located quickly and easily when it is required
- Ensuring, when necessary, that items issued from the stores are packed or packaged appropriately so that they will not be damaged or caused to deteriorate while in transit to their destinations
- Ensuring the Quality Control procedure after receiving material from the vendors.
- Loading/Unloading along material movement
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Line manager
- Should be able to read and write to receive material delivery from suppliers
- Do the inventory on the bins in the warehouse.

Essential on arrival:

For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 83,811 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.
Please note that the current salaries are being dollarized and processed in USD (using a fixed corporate exchange rate from November 2022) to provide cushion against the current external market conditions. This is a temporary measure and is subject to review at regular intervals. The payroll will revert to local currency processing once the external market conditions are normalised.
BHC offers a great benefits package that comprises of Annual Domiciliary cover and Medical Insurance Scheme which includes PKR 1,500,000 floater coverage per family for self, one spouse/long term partner and children under the age of 19 or under 23, if in full-time education and not gainfully employed. The Annual Domiciliary cover for day-to-day medical payments is upto PKR 200,000 per family (basis actual bills submission).
Additionally, The British High Commission contributes to a retirement provision in the form of a mandatory provident fund.
