The British Embassy Buenos Aires is recruiting an intern to join the Embassy’s Department for Business and Trade team. The intern would take up a challenging role to provide analytical and administrative support to Argentina’s Trade and Trade Policy Teams, with a focus in the infrastructure and security sectors, and on market access work.
The internship will take place between September 2024 and October 2025 (depending on the starting date, for 12 months).
Roles and responsibilities:
Analytical: market research in the infrastructure and security sectors, and identification of export opportunities for UK companies in the market. Support in market access and trade policy research.
Administrative: help deliver events and visit programmes; update Client Relationship Management (CRM) and trade data base; provide support in activities such as meetings, reports, briefings and finance, amongst others.

Essential on arrival:
- The intern must be enrolled in a university/college undergraduate programme that will allow them to participate in an internship “práctica profesional” for up to 18 months, in the areas of International Trade, Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Engineering or any-related studies.
- Have a proactive attitude to support in the different tasks that will be appointed for, and pay attention to details without losing sight of the general objectives.
- Must have the legal status to live and work in Argentina.

Language: Fluent in Spanish / English

Desirable:
- The ideal candidate would have previous experience and/or knowledge in market research, reporting/presenting results, and database management. Sector knowledge in infrastructure (Railways, Water, Construction, Ports) and/or urban security are desirable.
