Main purpose of job:
The Transport, Logistics & Protocol Analyst is responsible for a range of transport and logistical duties, providing support to all the Brazil Network Teams. He/she will need to have experience with Protocol and Logistics in dealing with the Brazilian Foreign Ministry (MRE), have experience in dealing with official events, dealing with Brazilian authorities, event transport planning and general administration. He/she will need to be pro-active and have a can-do positive attitude. Team player with first class customer service and relationship skills and focus.
Roles and responsibilities:
Percentage of key responsibilities and sample description listed below:
1) Daily Operations of Transport and Logistics (35%): Daily operations of the Transport and Logistics Team, being able to perform all tasks and duties effectively and independently. Tasks should include management of driver’s schedules, control of official vehicles maintenance and petrol, liaison duties with governmental contacts. If needed, prepare all the documents to request tax (ICMS) exemption or recovery on petrol usage for all the embassy official vehicles to save money.
2) Transport and Protocol Activities (25%): Ensuring that local transport plans and requests are actioned, preparing official notes and Note Verbales to MFA, supporting with official diplomatic protocol tasks. Support official VIP/VVIP visits, aiming to secure weapons, radios and press equipment’s clearance procedures for their arrival and departure. Deal with official and private diplomatic cars (import authorisation from MFA and/or manufacture vehicle authorisation, making sure all the paperwork is ready for customs, arranging value for money for transport from port to post arranging third part insurance and registering the car in Brazil.
3) UKBs Arrivals and Departures (20%): Support all the activities related to UKB arrivals and departures (unaccompanied airfreight and heavy baggage), commercial packages, diplomatic bag and cargo (paperwork, authorization from various Brazilians agencies, clearance and transport). Support logistics for confidential diplomatic bags (King’s Messenger) in Brazil, liaison with MFA, Federal Police, Customs Revenue and Airport Security Departments to make sure no problems occurs during the run. Deputy duties for the Transport, Logistics and Protocol Officer during absence from office on official duties/annual leave.
4) Official Visits and High-Level Meetings (15%): You will provide general administrative and transport support to the network Teams when dealing with all official visitors to Brazil, including for all VVIP visits and international events. Including administrative support to other CS areas and Consulates. Organize sector’s files and documents, contributing with internal systems to manage corporate information. Develop and keep updated spreadsheets with assets’ data and diplomats’ records and personal files.
5) Communications (5%): You will work closely with the Brazil network teams and relevant teams across UK Government.

Essential on arrival:
- Ongoing or completed university level educational/degree.
- They should ideally have experience in working for a medium to large organisation in Logistic and Transport activities.
- Previous experience in working with large international events.
- They should own an excellent command of written and spoken.
- English and Portuguese with strong organisational, communication, customer service, team-working and IT skills.
Language requirements:
Language: English and Portuguese
Level of language required: Proficiency English and Portuguese.

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of 6 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
