This is a great opportunity to be a part of the global Healthcare UK team based in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the delivery of one of the high-profile sectors for the UK in Vietnam.
This role will champion the UK’s NHS and public sector healthcare proposition, whilst working with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Healthcare UK (HCUK) to facilitate a better understanding of the local healthcare landscape and identifying commercially viable high-value opportunities to build a sustainable pipeline for NHS engagement.
It will lead on developing new partnerships, delivering high-profile trade promotion activities to strengthen co-operation with the UK public sector and NHS across all elements of the sector – including clinical services, innovation opportunities, in international private patients and medical education and training.
The successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the local healthcare sector and potential stakeholders. They will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders within the local market. They will be a self-starter, able to manage their own time effectively, evaluating options, impacts, risks and solutions – knowing when and how to seek advice from others.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
• Promote and advocate for the UK’s NHS and public sector healthcare propositions in international markets
• Collaborate with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Healthcare UK (HCUK) to develop a comprehensive understanding of the local healthcare environment[IW1.1]
• Identify and evaluate commercially viable, high-value opportunities to establish a sustainable pipeline for NHS engagement
• Lead the creation of new partnerships within the healthcare sector, focusing on clinical services, digital health, and medical education and training
• Communicate effectively with British audiences and articulate local market opportunities to major stakeholders
• Independently manage workload, evaluate options, impacts, risks, and solutions[IW2.1], and seek guidance when appropriate.

This vacancy is advertised as a full-time, fixed-term role of 12 months with possibility of extension.

Working patterns:
Full time – 39.5 hours per week with one hour lunch. Mon-Thursday 08:30–16:45, Friday 08:30–15:00. The Embassy has a smarter working policy and is committed to offering flexible working patterns balanced with the operational requirements of the role. In crisis/emergency situations you may need to work as required to support the Embassy response, sometimes on a shift pattern working which may result in unsociable hours and/or weekend working.
The FCDO also operates an agile workforce. To facilitate this, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require.
