The Opportunity:
The College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona is seeking applications for a visiting faculty position (academic rank will be based on experience) to teach Air Traffic Management beginning fall 2024.
The faculty member will teach core air traffic management courses with an emphasis on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated curriculum and material. Depending on the course assignment, the teaching format can be either in-person lecture or computer simulation based. Additional duties include student advising, curriculum development, committee service, scholarship and presentations. Faculty contracts are nine-month positions.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Thorough understanding of current air traffic control procedures in the enroute, terminal and control tower settings and be able to convey that knowledge and material to a student body with a wide variance of understanding.
- Knowledge and experience in Air Traffic Management and/or an instrument flight rating is required.
- Undergraduate and Master’s degree in technical aviation-related fields.
- Willing to motivate, mentor and advise young adults toward succeeding as the future’s air traffic management professionals.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous management and teaching experience, as well as proficiency in the use of the Canvas Learning Management Platform.
- Experience with STARS, ERAM and ASDE-X
